Facial Veins

Facial veins appear as blue or red veins that appear on the nose, cheeks, forehead or around the eyes. They are tiny thread-like veins or larger bulging veins. They can be caused by a variety of factors including rosacea, hormones, sun exposure, or enlarged facial muscles. Dr. Lawrence Presant of Arizona Vein Specialists has over 40 years of experience in the medical field and has established a reputation for his high quality work in vein treatment. If you have visible facial veins Dr. Presant will work with you to develop a treatment plan that deals with the underlying and aesthetic issues of facial veins.

Treating Facial Veins

Arizona Vein Specialists excels in employing injection treatments for facial veins. Known for their expertise in facial vein sclerotherapy, they have added Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) therapy to nourish, thicken and enrich the skin overlying undereye veins to diminish the dark circles and thin skin problem. Other treatments like intense pulsed light can be recommended.

What Types of Facial Veins Can Be Treated?

Arizona Vein Specialists has successfully treated over 1200 cases of facial veins, including forehead veins, periorbital veins (temples & around the eye), cheek veins, and around nose veins and even behind the ears.

Sclerotherapy

Facial veins are directly injected with a special solution or foam to collapse the veins. This technique requires special expertise to make it safe and avoid complications. Dr. Presant has the appropriate training, experience and precision to make this a safe procedure.
Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)

This state-of-the-art technology is an improvement over PRP (plasma) injection. By drawing a patient’s own blood and spinning it in a centrifuge at slow speed, we are able to concentrate the platelets, stem cells and growth factors for reinjection without any additives. This concentrate is injected into the thin skin below the eyes and slowly releases these growth factors to nourish the skin and promote collagen formation for thicker skin. This helps treat dark circles, thin crepey skin and hollow lines.

After Care

After receiving facial vein treatment you will be able to return to your normal daily activities that are non-strenuous and avoid bending down for a few days. It is recommended that you protect your skin with sunscreen.
